Abstract: Per and Poly fluoroalkyl substance (PFAS) contamination is rampant in industrial areas, but it isn’t just an urban problem. PFAS are present in Idaho, but at lower concentrations than other parts of the country. Learn what PFAS are, where they come from, and where they go. Learn about the instruments, logistics, and sampling considerations used to test for these emerging contaminants. Additionally, an overview of UCMR5’s (Unregulated Contaminant Monitoring Rule) focus on PFAS and what that means for water operators.
